A CAR which was insured as a motorcycle was stopped after refusing to pull over for police.

The driver evaded officers when he was asked to pull over in Blackpool over the bank holiday weekend.

However members of the force’s dog unit spotted the car heading towards Preston and were able to liaise with colleagues to get a stinger ready.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “Drink driver evaded Blackpool patrols at speed.

“Luckily the dog unit spotted it towards Preston and invited HO51 to lay a stinger out ready to prevent any risk of a pursuit. Driver stopped shortly after his tyres deflated and was duly arrested.

“Funnily enough, the vehicle was insured as a motorcycle, so really we were just making sure it was properly represented as having two wheel again by stinging the other two. Needless to say, the vehicle was seized.”
