NO DEATHS have been recorded by East Lancashire Hospital Trust today.

The trust, which manages Blackburn Royal Hospital and Burnley General Hospital, has not reported any further fatalities in today's figures.

Elsewhere in the county, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals also reported no more fatalities in today's figures.

In Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, four people died within 28-days of a positive Covid-19 test, one yesterday (January 22), one on Thursday (January 21), one of January 18 and one on January 16.

In University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust another three deaths were reported, one yesterday (January 22) and two on Thursday (January 21).

The Government said a further 1,348 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Saturday, bringing the UK total to 97,329.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 113,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK.
