A MAN has been charged following a fatal collision on the M60 between a Kia Ceed and a lorry where a 38-year-old woman died at the scene. 

Shortly before 8.45am on Thursday, police were called to a report of a crash between a Kia Ceed and a lorry near to junction 20 for the Alkrington Interchange.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff, the driver of the Kia died at the scene.

She has since been named as married mum-of-four Shirley-Anne Dumbuya, from Moston, whowas a final year nursing student at the University of Bolton.

John Bowers, 33, of Sefton Road, Preston, Lancashire has been charged with causing death by careless driving.

He will appear before Manchester Magistrates' Court on this morning.
