A driver has been airlifted to hospital with back injuries after losing control on sheet ice.
Just after 12pm on Saturday, emergency services were called to Slyne Road in Morecambe after a car was reported to have crashed and landed on its side, leaving a person trapped.
Fire crews helped free the driver before paramedics transferred them to Royal Preston Hospital via the air ambulance.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "At 12.10pm on Saturday, two fire engines and a four wheel drive from Morecambe and Lancaster attended a road traffic collision on Slyne Road, Morecambe.
"The collision involved one car and one casualty trapped in the vehicle.
"The casualty was rescued at the scene by fire service personnel and transferred via air ambulance to hospital.
"Fire crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and forty minutes."
A spokesperson for the road police said the driver of the Honda had lost control on sheet ice covering the road before the vehicle crashed, coming to rest on its side.
