This view of Clitheroe from the air taken in 1982 shows, what was then, the new Booth’s supermarket nearing completion in the centre of the picture.
Above it surrounded by trees is the castle and on the extreme left of the picture you can see King Street leading to the town centre.
The market is easy to make out on the opposite side of the road to the Booth’s development.
