HOSPITALS across the county have reported 12 new coronavirus-related deaths over the last 48 hours.
Of those deaths, seven took place in facilities operated by the East Lancashire Hospitals Trust, which includes the Royal Blackburn and Burnley General.
The trust now has a total death toll of 185.
Elsewhere, three deaths were reported to NHS England by the Southport and Ormskirk NHS Foundation Trust, which has now recorded 138 fatalities related to the virus.
Two deaths were also recorded in over the last two days within the Blackpool Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust brining the new total there to 177.
Neither Lancashire Teaching Hospitals or the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust have reported any new deaths.
The total death toll within hospitals across the county now stands at 859.
The figures do not include people who died in care homes or the community.
Across the North West as a whole, the total death toll stands at 4,100.
