JACK Mellor, a pupil at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School, Blackburn, took inspiration from his favourite meal when he entered a competition run by Westwood Mercedes in 2002.
The dealership was challenging pupils at schols around East Lancashire to create a design for a Smart car and the 11-year-old Blackburn schoolboy was delighted when his egg and chips design was judged the winner.
Graphics were made up based on Jack’s design and applied to a brand new Smart car which was then used to promote the small city car in the showroom at Whitebirk.
