POLICE are appealing for information after an indecent exposure and sexual assault incident in Blackpool.
The incident happened at about 10.25pm on May 25 as a woman in her twenties was walking along ‘Lower Walk’, near to the sea front, between Gynn Square and The Metropole Hotel.
She was approached by an unknown man who blocked her path and then exposed himself to her and then sexually assaulted her by grabbing her breasts and crotch.
The woman then ran off and the offender walked off towards Bispham.
He is described as white, early to mid twenties, dark hair, slim build between 5’8” – 5’11”. He was wearing a dark tracksuit top and bottoms.
Detective Inspector Jamie Lillystone, of Blackpool Police, said: “This must have been an extremely distressing incident for the woman involved and I would appeal for anyone who saw anything or was in the area at the time to come forward.
“I appreciate this incident may well cause some concern and I would reassure people that we have a team of detectives investigating and we are doing all we can to identify the offender.”
