A GROUP of teenagers were spotted jumping in open water at Heapey Reservoirs today, Wednesday, in behaviour described as "extremely dangerous".
Shaun Walton, of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, shared a picture on social media of youngsters dressed in swimming gear at the site.
He warned that swimming in this type of water could lead to death.
The fire service had been called to Heapey Nab after reports were made of a man starting a blaze in the woods.
Mr Walton said: "While at Heapey Nab we also provided advice to groups of teenagers not complying with social distancing and jumping into open water at Heapey Reservoirs.
"This is extremely dangerous behaviour and can lead to death."
