A HISTORIC castle which overlooks Abergele is hosting a special afternoon tea event for Mother's Day.
A Mother’s Day Cream Tea will take place at Gwrych Castle on Sunday, March 22.
Guests will also be able to explore the recently restored parts of the castle, the formal gardens and the Coach House.
Dr Mark Baker, of the Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust, said: "Since the 1800’s when Anna, Duchess of Bedford would soon become hungry, afternoon tea became a fashionable social event.
"During the 1800’s, aristocratic women would change into long gowns, gloves and hats for their afternoon tea and it became a great social event.
"The Chapel at Gwrych Castle played host to such events during the time of the Countess of Dundonald."
Volunteer gardeners and site staff will be on hand to answer questions when guests are exploring.
