A man has been charged with murder following the death of 65-year-old Stuart Newton.
Mr Newton was found with serious head injuries inside a flat in Worsley Court, Oswaldtwistle, on Thursday lunchtime but lost his fight for life at Royal Preston Hospital on Friday.
A post mortem examination has given a cause of death of blunt head trauma.
Nathan Scott Williams, 30, of Mount Pleasant Road, Oswaldtwistle, was charged with murder and appeared before Preston magistrates this morning.
He has been remanded in custody and is due at Preston Crown Court on Wednesday .
Detective Chief Inspector Lee Wilson, of the Force Major Investigation Team, said: “My thoughts and those of my team remain with Mr Newton’s loved ones at this tragic time. They continue to be supported by specially trained officers.
