A LONG-RUNNING moriscos morris dance troupe has started up again for its 2020 season.

Radcliffe Moriscos are recruiting new members for its tots (3-5), tinies (6-11), juniors (11-15), and seniors (15+) groups.

The troupe was founded by Laura Pendlebury, troupe principal, in 1978.

Mrs Whittle said: "By holding these sessions, we are keeping children off the streets.

"It is also an opportunity to make new friends and to enjoy yourself."

The groups rehearse on Mondays at the King George V Community Centre in Outwood Road, Radcliffe.

Its tinies group won third place in the Morris Dancing Academy (TMDA) 2019 Championships.

Daughter Sylvia Pendlebury, the trainer for the dancers, posted on social media on Tuesday: "If you're looking to make friends and an interesting hobby then this is the place for you.

"Both experienced and none experienced dancers welcome."

Sessions for children aged five to 13 are held between 6pm and 7.15pm, while sessions for those aged 14 and over are held between 7.15pm and 8.45pm.
