ACCRINGTON Stanley manager John Coleman has confirmed Sam Finley and Colby Bishop will be out of action for at least a month through injury.

Midfielder Finley has been sidelined after picking up a hip injury in the Leasing.com Trophy loss to Salford City and striker Bishop has a small tear in his hamstring.

Coleman is hoping that the transfer business at the club picks up soon as the transfer window nears a close.

"Finley went for a scan this week on his hip and it’s not bad good news, but it’s not as bad as we originally thought," said Coleman after the 1-1 draw at Burton Albion.

"It’s an unusual injury, there’s not many people who get them in football.

"We just have to take our time and hopefully, he’ll be back sooner rather than later.

"Colby's got a slight tare in his hamstring so it’s possibly four weeks. I know Colby’s a quick healer and he’ll be doing all he can to get fit."

Stanley have yet to delve into the winter transfer window so far, but this isn't to say the Reds manager hasn't had his eye on potential incomings in the coming days.

Coleman also praised the attitude of Sean McConville and Finley for travelling with the team to Burton as they had the option to stay at home.

"I’m hoping it’s people coming in rather than anyone going out," added the Reds boss.

"We’ve got a good squad here, it’s hungry. We’ve got two players who have big injuries in Sam Finley and Sean McConville, they had an option to travel or not to travel and they chose to travel and support the team.

"I think that speaks volumes for what we’re about here at Accrington. We’ve got a big will to win and we’ve got big hearts.

"I’m hoping we can take that on to the rest of the season and secure League One football for next year, it’s still going to be a big battle."
