The two "Scottish legends" posed for an Instagram picture as they met up in Los Angeles ahead of the 62nd Grammy Awards. 

Both superstars boast links to Glasgow, with Lulu having grown up in the Dennistoun area of Glasgow and The Someone You Loved singer being frequently spotted out and about in the area. 

Capaldi was performing at Sir Lucian Grainge's annual Grammy showcase alongside Billie Eilish, Gregory Porter and a host of other music talent. 

The event was being held ahead of this year's Grammy Awards and was attended by Lulu, Lana Del Rey and other stars.

Scottish singer-songwriter Lulu posted the picture of the two on her Instagram last night, with the caption "Two wee Scots meet up in LA". 

The Dennistoun singer, whose real name is Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawrie, has been a part of the Scottish music scene for almost 60 years. 

But the West Lothian singer Lewis Capaldi has quickly captured Scottish hearts. 

Hundreds of followers liked the Instagram post with one fan writing: "Two Scottish legends".

Some fans called for a duet in the comments, whereas another wrote: "Hope you've had ya haggis".

Lewis Capaldi is up for song of the year against the likes of Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and Lizzo for his hit Someone You Loved.
