A POLICE operation to clamp down on anti-social behaviour resulted in a group of youths being moved on.
Police attended various locations across Farnworth last night in response to concerns about ongoing anti-social behaviour.
A group of youths were moved on from Devoke Park at about 10pm.
Officers in the town can use Section 30 of the Anti Social Behaviour Act to disperse groups and ban them immediately from a designated area.
Police then attended Highfield Road but said that a group of youths fled the scene on foot as they arrived.
Patrols later visited the Tesco Superstore in Long Causeway to carry out checks after reports of a suspicious man trying car doors.
The police patrol was part of Operation Arden, an effort by Bolton officers to reduce anti-social behaviour in the borough.
They tweeted at about 11pm yesterday: "The Bolton South neighbourhood policing team are out on patrol this evening, tackling anti-social behaviour. Currently in the Farnworth and Kearsley areas."
They also posted: "Devoke Park visited and a group of youths moved on from the location. Next on to Highfield Road to check reports of youths causing annoyance in the area."
They also visited Harper Green Road, Kearsley train station and Hulme Road Park, Stoneclough, but said there were "no youths present."
