PLANS to build a new house on a "problematic" site have been approved in principle despite concerns that the plan lacks detail.
The outline application to build a detached dwelling on land north of Boardman Street in Blackrod was approved by the planning committee.
But Horwich and Blackrod councillor Peter Wright told his colleagues that the design could potentially be overbearing on existing properties in the neighbouring area.
He also noted that the entrance to the site is "extremely narrow".
Cllr Wright urged the committee to defer its decision on the application until more information is provided about the topography of the site.
The planning committee voted to approve the application on the condition that a site visit takes place before the final details are approved.
