A STREET which goes the extra mile at Christmas by lighting up their houses with spectacular displays has raised £2,000.
Neighbours in Aspen Fold, Oswaldtwistle, put out collection buckets for passing drivers to pop their change into and held a series of events.
The Bethany Singers, from Africa, visited to sing carols, there were cake and sweet stalls and Accrington Rotary Club arranged for Santa to come along to thrill local children.
The annual fundraiser was organised by Tony and Linda Jenkinson who live in the cul-de-sac, off Blackburn Road, West End. A total of £2,006 was collected for the Marie Curie cancer charity.
Mr Jenkinson covers his house in lights every year in memory of his father, Arthur Jenkinson, who died from cancer in 2001.
