BOLTON'S newest MP asked the very first question as parliament reopened this afternoon.
Mark Logan spoke of chancellor Sajid Javid's visit to Bolton Lads & Girls Club during the election campaign.
He asked: "Would my friend the chancellor agree with me that the uplift in funding for schoolchildren right across Bolton North East will ensure that our young people fulfil their true potential?”
Mr Javid said he was "incredibly impressed" by the club and expressed his delight to see the new Tory MP in parliament.
He said: "Our plans will ensure that funding for every pupil in every school can rise at least in line with inflation. Schools in Bolton North East will attract £4,800 per pupil in 2020/21 on average – and based on the current numbers of pupils that is a 7.7 per cent total cash increase."
