IF YOU'VE been too busy to keep up with the business news from the Daily Echo this week, here’s what you might have missed.
1. Condor Ferries, which links Poole with the Channel Islands, is to be sold. A deal has been agreed between the investment fund that owns Condor and a consortium that involves Brittany Ferries.
2. A new industrial estate has been planned for Poole’s Holes Bay. The applicants say it could create 260 jobs, although there are also concerns about its impact on protected sites in the area.
3. Not all retailers are contracting. Poole’s world-famous, cruelty-free cosmetics brand Lush has opened two new “concept” stores on the continent, as well as its second biggest shop in Europe.
4. While we’re on the subject of retail, the boss of Beales told us why he has been opening stores while bigger chains close them.
5. And finally, another of Dorset’s famous brand names, Jimmy’s Iced Coffee, is concerning itself with caffeine of the hot variety with the launch of a brand of coffee beans.
