BOLTON Council are starting some important works in Westhoughton today, which could lead to traffic disruption.

Stop/go boards will be in effect in three roads around the town.

Wigan Road will have the traffic measures in place until next Monday, while Highways line the road.

The boards will only be operated during off-peak hours, meaning that anyone travelling between 7am and 9am, or 3.30pm to 6pm, will not notice any difference.

There will be no work taking place over the weekend.

Off-peak stop/go boards will also be in effect in Wearish Lane and Platt Lane.

Highways are carrying out general highway maintenance and routine cleaning works.

Both roads are only due to be worked on today.

All dates are estimated.
