Businesses are being invited to a special event that will focus on the health and wellbeing of their company and it promises to give people top tips on improving productivity.

This year’s annual Central Lancashire Business event is all about wellbeing and how it can help companies of all sizes boost the bottom line. Keynote speaker Simon Weston, the well-known Falklands Veteran and businessman, will share his experiences and inspiring story talking about triumphing over adversity, seizing the moment and succeeding.

Cllr Alistair Bradley, leader of Chorley Council, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting the event this year and I’m sure everyone who attends will take something away that can benefit not only their business but themselves too.

“Wellbeing is a bit of a buzzword at the moment but with the changing nature of society and fast-paced lives we live it is important that your business is healthy and productive.

“That starts with the wellbeing of staff, working environment and practices that when applied appropriately can improve productivity and increase profits.”

The annual event is organised by Chorley, Preston and South Ribble Councils with Chorley hosting this year’s event in the Town Hall.

Hosted by Mike Ode, the panel of speakers will also include: Phil Lynas – All About Food and Julie Thornhill – Waitrose and Partners

“Places are free and they are going fast so we’d urge people to book on as soon as possible,” said Cllr Bradley.

“As well as listening to the speakers there will be a chance to network and the evening will end with a question and answer session.”

Leader of Preston City Council, Cllr Matthew Brown, said: “We are fortunate that Preston and central Lancashire is home to many innovative and growing industries. Supporting our local business community is an important part of our work in Preston and these events are always a major draw.

The event on October 2 starts at 5.30pm and will run until 9pm. You can book your place now at centrallancashire businessevents.co.uk.
