AN 18-year-old man from Chorley has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated actual bodily harm and assault of a man in Preston.

Police made an appeal for information on BBC One’s Crimewatch last week over the incideent at 6.30am on July 13th to Friargate in Preston to reports a man in his 20s had been punched by another man.

The victim was knocked unconscious and suffered facial injuries and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

Following the programme we received several calls from members of the public.

An 18-year-old man from Chorley has since been arrested on suspicion of aggravated actual bodily harm and assault, and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

PC Mike Cobley, of Preston Police, said: “We would like to thank everyone who called in following the programme airing last week.

“We have made an arrest, though our enquiries are continuing. We would ask anybody with further information about the incident to get in touch as soon as possible.”
