A DOCTOR has urged people in East Lancashire to look out for the signs of blood cancer.

Around 25,000 in the UK are diagnosed with the cancer which includes Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma.

However signs and symptoms of the cancer, which are vital to pick up early, can be difficult to spot.

Some of the symptoms of Leukaemia include feeling tired or weak, bruising or bleeding easily and swollen lymph nodes.

Lymphoma symptoms can include difficulty breathing and chest pain while Myeloma includes weight loss and fevers.

Dr Neil Smith, who works across both East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), said: “Survival rates for blood cancer do vary, but there has been a significant improvement in recent years.
