FIREFIGHTERS have been tackling a blaze in the garden of a property in South Ham

Emergency services were called just after 8pm this evening after a shed went up in flames.

Witnesses told this newspaper that the fire service arrived quickly and managed to get the fire under control.

Video footage shows smoke and flames billowing from the back garden of the affected property.

One onlooker told The Gazette: "Neighbours saw flames coming from another garden and called the fire brigade. Two engines turned up within five minutes.

"At first they went through my neighbour's garden but realised they could get a better angle if they went round the front of the house.

"They hung around to make sure it was out for a while."

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for comment.

Earlier tonight, the force tweeted: "We're currently working on a garden house fire in South Ham Road, South Ham."
