COUNCIL chiefs have warned motorists about new one-way restrictions on a busy Chorley road.

Chorley Council posted on their Facebook page that Union Street will revert to being one-way for a few days later to fix problems on the road.

It said that work to prevent pooling water on the new surface hasn’t fixed the problem.

A spokesman said: “We’re as frustrated as everyone else after only just re-opening the town centre road in both directions a couple of weeks ago but it’s important any issues are sorted before responsibility of it is passed to the county council for it to be maintained.

”It was hoped the problem could be fixed without major work but it will need to be planed and resurfaced.

“We expect it to be all sorted by Friday and the work will be carried out at the contractor’s expense.”
