A DRIVER has been arrested after failing a drugs test at the side of the motorway in Bolton.
Police pulled over a luxury white Porsche Panamera on the M61.
Officers said they had spotted the vehicle travelling at high speeds along the A666/St Peter's Way in the early hours of this morning.
The male driver failed a roadside drugs test, returning a positive result for cannabis and cocaine.
GMP Traffic tweeted about the incident: "#ME18 spotted this Porsche Panamera at high speed on A666 St Peter's Way, Bolton.
"It was stopped on the M61 where the driver provided a positive drug test for cannabis and cocaine.
"Male arrested. Section 5A RTA #fatal5."
Section 5A of the Road Traffic Act 1988 makes it an offence for a person to drive, attempt to drive, or be in charge of a motor vehicle on a road or other public place with a specified controlled drug in the body, if the proportion of the drug in that person’s blood or urine exceeds the specified limit for that drug.
