Motorway closed as police deal with a 'concern for safety'
POLICE have reopened a road after dealing with a serious incident.
Road closures were put in place after officers were called to the M61 following concerns for a person's safety.
The road was closed in both directions at junction six for Horwich to junction 8 for Chorley.
There was heavy traffic in the area as officers safely dealt with the incident.
A spokesman said: "The road has now reopened."
