A FORMER pub could be converted into two houses of multiple occupation.
The vacant former Horseshoe pub located at the corner of Blackburn Street and Green Street in Radcliffe could be turned into accommodation.
In the 1980s, the Horseshoe was one of the most popular pubs in the town. In the 90s, the venue played host to Radcliffe Irish band Da’Mipherry.
It reinvented itself under new ownership as the Flying Flute, however, the pub lasted only a matter of months.
The building was then taken over by Henderson Jones as an extension of its adjacent home furnishings premises, and used as a shop floor.
Now an application has been submitted to Bury Council to change the official use of the site from a vacant building to two houses of multiple occupation (HMO), one containing five flats, and the other six.
Hyde-based Mortimer Property Management is the company behind the plans for the 380sqm site.
They also intend constructing a two-storey rear extension, external alterations, and bicycle shelter.
