A MAN has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with dangerous driving following a police pursuit in Blackburn in February.
Sarfraz Aslam, 38, of Cranwell Close, Blackburn, was sent on bail to Preston Crown Court charged with dangerous driving on Copy Nook, Higher Audley, Chester Street and Dartford Close on February 19.
Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said a Vauxhall Astra sped off when police indicated for it to stop.
A high speed pursuit followed with the Astra mounting the kerb to get round the police car.
The car shot a red light and travelled the wrong way around a roundabout forcing other road users to take evasive action.
Aslam will appear before a judge the Crown Court on September 23. He was given unconditional bail.
