PATIENTS in Chorley and South Ribble have revealed their best and worst GP surgeries.

The annual GP Patient Survey asked residents for their opinions on practices, measuring their experiences on a range of topics including the ease of making appointments, waiting times, the quality of care given, practice opening times and out-of-hours services.

The most recent Chorley and South Ribble CCG survey saw 9,234 questionnaires sent out with 3,372 patients completing them.

According to the statistics Adlington Medical Centre received the highest satisfaction rating with 99 per cent believing the practice to be good or better.

Meanwhile, Leyland Surgery on West Paddock was the lowest ranked one with 66 per cent.

A further seven surgeries, Buckshaw Village Health Centre (73 per cent), Eaves Lane Surgery (75 per cent), Station Surgery (75 per cent), Sandy Lane Surgery (79 per cent ), Central Park Surgery (79 per cent), Clayton Brook Surgery (80 per cent) and Worden Medical Centre (81 per cent) had satisfaction ratings below the national average of 83 per cent.

Surgeries in Chorley and South Ribble CCG scored an average satisfaction rating of 86 per cent, which is above the national average of 83.

17 of the surgeries were above the national average and 13 on or below the average.

Six of the top 10 rated surgeries were in Chorley borough while the top performing Leyland surgery was Moss Side Medical Centre which had an overall rate of 89 per cent.

Chorley MP Lindsay Hoyle, said: “I am really pleased that Adlington Medical Centre has a great record and comes out on top.

“They are going the extra mile to make sure there is a good quality patient experience.

“They are setting the standard that others should try to follow.

“They are going to have to improve.

“We have some good surgeries in Chorley where the patient experience is good unfortunately there are some negative view and they have to improve.”
