Organisers of this year’s Chorley Flower Show have announced they will be holding a treasure hunt on both days of the show and there will be real treasure at the end, a free luxury holiday.

The show, held at Astley Hall this weekend, will be offering treasure hunt maps to visitors at the gates.

Each map contains a series of clues which takes contestants on a tour of the show ground.  Once complete they can be handed into the show sponsor, travel agent Book In Style at their exhibition stand 25.

The entrants will be scored and one will be picked out to be this year’s winner of a luxury cruise, courtesy of Book In Style.

Cllr, Alistair Bradley, Leader of Chorley Council, said: “Our aim is to create an event both for garden lovers and families, the treasure hunt is just one of a host of activities we’ve got planned to keep younger visitors entertained at the show.  We also have a dedicated family area, with fun fair rides, live entertainment and workshops where children can try their hand at arts and crafts.”

He added: “I’d also like to say a personal thank you to our sponsor Book In Style for putting up the prize for the treasure hunt.  I’m sure it’s going to be a big hit with both young and old, when there’s a luxury cruise up for grabs!”

Chorley Flower Show attracts more than 15,000 visitors each year, and is the leading gardening show for Lancashire, winning a prestigious Lancashire Tourism Award in 2017.

The show will take place in Astley Park this weekend from 10am – book in advance now and avoid the queues.

This year Chorley Flower Show has also announced they will be hosting a special preview event tonight, before the show officially opens.

The Flower Power Festival will offer guests a summer evening of drinks, food, musical entertainment and an exclusive tour of the Flower Show before the gates open to the public on the Saturday.  Tickets are still available for more information on the show and to buy tickets visit www.chorleyflowershow.com
