SUPERMARKET Aldi has triumphed once again, taking home three accolades at this year’s Spirits Business Gin Masters.

A coveted ‘Masters’ title, the highest distinction available, was awarded to the Greyson’s Seville Orange & Persian Lime Gin (£14.99), beating off stiff competition from bottles costing up to two times the price.

The nation’s love of flavoured gins has yet to slow down, with a staggering 66 million bottles sold in 2018 alone.

Aldi's gin scored the nod of approval from the judges – achieving one of the highest ever awards received for the supermarket’s spirits range.

Retailing at £14.99, Aldi’s Greyson’s Seville Orange & Persian Lime Gin is 40% of the price of Tanqueray Flor De Sevilla Gin, offering shoppers a £10 saving on the trendy citrus based drink.

Gin fans should also look out for the supermarket’s bestselling tipples; Harrison’s Gin (£15.99) and Passionfruit Gin Liqueur (£9.99) which also took home coveted Gold and Silver medals respectively, continuing their winning streak having already scooped both a silver and bronze medal at this year’s International Spirits Challenge.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, said: “It’s an incredible achievement to be recognised for our gin range at such a prestigious competition, not only once, but three times!

"We’ve seen the trend for flavoured gins become increasingly popular over the last few years and we’re thrilled to see that the quality of our products makes them stand out from the crowd with both our loyal customers and gin connoisseurs alike.”

Aldi’s spirits range has gone from strength to strength, having been awarded an impressive 24 medals at international competitions this year alone, as well as scooping 127 medals across the entire beers, wine and spirits range.
