A MOTORCYCLIST suffered serious injuries in a crash near Adlington.

Police are appealing for information about the incident which took place around 3.10pm on June 23, when a red and white Honda CBR motorcycle was travelling southeast along the A6 Chorley Road.

There was a crash involving a grey Hyundai i30 which was turning right out of Grimeford Lane onto the A6 Chorley Road.

The motorcyclist, a woman in her 40s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

Constable Mark Ratcliffe of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This incident could easily have proved much more serious.

“Our thoughts remain with the motorcyclist as she continues her recovery in hospital.

“Were you in the area at the time and did you witness the collision?

“Perhaps you saw either vehicle shortly before the incident or have dashcam footage that can assist our investigation?

“If so, please get in touch as soon as possible.”
