DETECTIVES are urgently trying to find a missing paedophile who is thought to have gone on the run.

Police said Ryan Humpage, 22, absconded from a property in Lydia Street, Accrington, on May 8 and has failed to register his new address.

When he was 18, Humpage admitted to engaging in sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl after a house party in Blackpool. That offence happened on Christmas Day 2013.

At the time of sentencing in July 2015, Judge Christopher Cornwall said Humpage's offending was of great concern. He sent him to a Young Offenders Institution for 18 months and made a sexual harm prevention order banning him from having unsupervised contact with any girl under 16. Humpage was also made subject to the notification requirements for five years. And it is for breaching that court order that detectives now want to speak to him.

Humpage is described as white, tall and of slim build with brown hair. He has tattoos including a skull wearing a hat and smoking on his left arm.

Humpage is believed to have travelled to Manchester city centre. He has links to Blackpool and is believed to be wanting to travel to Northern Ireland.

Det Con Nick Spencer said: “Humpage is wanted by police after breaching his notification requirements. Enquiries to locate him are on-going and it is believed he has travelled to the Manchester city centre area.

I would urge anyone who has seen him, or knows where he is, to contact police immediately.”
