TRAIN Lines have been reopened after a body was found on the tracks meant the closure of services between Bolton and Buckshaw Park being blocked.
A spokesman for Britiush Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Adlington station at 10.09am this morning following reports of a casualty on the tracks."
He added: "Paramedics are also in attendance and sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are currently working to identify the person and inform their family.
"The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
Due to the emergency, train services running through the stations faced cancellations, delays or diversions and rail replacement buses were laid on.
The line reopened shortly after lunchtime on Monday.
