POLICE are asking for the public’s help in trying to find a man after a sexual assault on a train. 

British Transport Police officer have posted an appeal and would like to speak to this man in connection to a sexual assault on board a train from Leyland to Manchester Piccadilly.

On 16 January at approximately 3pm, a man boarded the Northern Rail train at Leyland and sat next to the victim who he tried to engage in sexual conversation.  

She repeatedly said no to his advances and he then sexually assaulted her.

He left the train at Manchester Piccadilly. 

Officers believe the man in the CCTV image may have information which could help their investigation.
