A CELEBRITY chef's tour of Lancashire was featured on the latest episode of his new TV series yesterday.
Langho's Northcote and Clitheroe's Holmes Mill took centre stage on the sixth episode of a cooking show hosted by British TV chef and presenter, James Martin.
The ITV programme, James Martin's Great British Adventure, is a 20-episode series which shows the presenter embarking on a culinary road trip around the country and includes a visit to East Lancashire.
On his latest tour, the TV presenter was joined by Lisa Goodwin-Allen, executive head chef at Northcote, and in a glowing review of Lancashire, James said: "This county has delivered big time."
The episode starts out by showing the two chefs visiting Holmes Mill, on Greenacre Street, Clitheroe, which James describes as "magical" and a "vibrant celebration" of Lancashire food and drink.
When James and Lisa first walk into the Bowland Food Hall, the TV host was clearly impressed with Clitheroe's former 19th Century textile mill and compared it to a chef's toy shop.
He said: "Just look at this food. Great meats, beautiful cheeses. It really is a celebration of great ingredients. You really can get a bit of everything here."
Lisa agreed with the TV host and said: "It's absolutely fantastic. We are very spoilt for choice."
They together created their own original fish delicacy, which was watched by more than a dozen people outside the Bowland Food Hall when it was recorded nearly a year ago.
Later in the episode, Lisa took James to her Michelin star restaurant, Langho's Northcote, where she cooked him a loin of goat mixed with summer pods, white curry sauce and sweet Sicily oil.
James said his last experience of eating goat was "horrific" but was full of praise for Lisa's dish. Raising a glass to Lisa's food, he said: "The taste is incredible."

Towards the end of the episode, James visited Bowland Brewery for a behind-the-scenes tour of the complex before he cooked his own dish inside the mill's Engine Room at Bowland Beer Hall.
At the end of the episode Lisa and James share a drink inside the Bowland Brewery's bar and concluding, he said: "This county has delivered big time."
