HIGHWAYS chiefs are warning motorists to be careful on roads after snowfall overnight.
Blackburn with Darwen Road posted on their Facebook page an update on the weather this morning.
A spokesman said: "We have been continuously gritting through the night and still on the network now, with further treatments to continue through this morning.
"There has been snowfall in the early hours this morning, heavy at times, which has caused some areas to whiteover on the higher routes, with most other routes becoming slushy.
"Please take care and leave extra time for your journey this morning. And more importantly, remember to drive to the conditions.
"We’re currently at an RTC and its unbelievable the amount of drivers who are doing at/above the speed limit, tailgating, not slowing down at mini roundabouts."
