A MAN in his 50s was knocked unconscious, stamped on and left on the ground while walking home in Leyland.

Police are appealing for help from the public after the incident on January 5 at 1am. 

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “This has occurred at the bottom of Moss Lane in Leyland, approaching the underpass.

“The male has been knocked unconscious, kicked, stamped on and left.

“We are appealing for any information in relation to a group of six males believed to be aged between 16 and 20 and two females of similar age.

”This group are believed to have been in the area at the time.

”We are also asking that if you were part of this group, please come forward as you might hold vital information in assisting us in finding the offenders.
