Motorists and businesses are worried about flooding on a main road in Coppull.

Phil Mayren of boyz2men barbers said: “The water is coming up from the island and the kerbside and the problem has been reported to United Utilities.

“It's flooding the whole area on Clancutt Lane and Coppull New Road. It happened overnight started around 5am.

“Water is still coming up through the ground.

”I'm just worried when another vehicle comes past that the road is going to collapse.

”I was worried at first that the water mains would be off. As I have plenty of gents that have a hot towel wet shave getting ready for the weekend.

“Im worried if the temp goes to freezing as it's a bad junction doesn't help the zebra crossing being straight after it.”

A spokesperson for United Utilities said: "We were notified of a burst water main at the junction of Spendmore Lane and Clancutt Lane in Coppull, Chorley earlier today.

“Our engineer has been to the site to inspect the damage and we expect repairs to be completed today.

”We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
