THE shirts worn by Burnley players during the Premier League game against Chelsea are to be auctioned off in aid of the Royal British Legion.

Burnley showed their support to the Poppy Appeal on Sunday at their closest home fixture to Remembrance Sunday.

The Royal British Legion raised more than £1,000 from selling poppies and other items as well as a bucket collection around Turf Moor before the game.

There was also a minutes silence during a rendition of the Last Post ahead of kick-off against the Blues.

Burnley players wore shirts carrying the Royal British Legion poppy logo and the match-worn or prepared shirts are now going up for auction with all proceeds going to the Royal British Legion.

The auction will close at 5pm on Monday (November 5) and the winners will be contacted on Tuesday.

Only bids in nominations of £5 will be accepted. Each day at 5pm the club website will be updated with the current highest bid next to the players name.

To enter the auction please email poppy@burnleyfc.com with the name and number of the shirt you're budding on, your full name, your maximum bid and a contact telephone number.
