A PENSIONER is in serious condition after he was hit by a double-decker bus opposite a train station.

Emergency services were called to a collision involving a man in his 70s and a Scania double-decker bus on Shepherds Way, Chorley last Thursday at around 2.15pm.

The pedestrian was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with serious facial injuries. His condition is described as serious but stable.

The road was closed for around two hours for collision investigation.

Police have now launched a public appeal for witnesses following the collision in Chorley last week.

Sergeant Marc Glass, of Lancashire’s Road Policing Unit, said: “The collision happened opposite Chorley train station and the area would have been quite busy at the time. If you saw anything, or have any dash-cam footage, please get in touch.”
