A HIGH school has appointed a new principal.

Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio (DAES) Chair of Governors Ian Clark has confirmed the appointment of Colin Grand as the school’s new Principal.

Mr Grand was appointed Interim Principal in October last year when Ruth Bradbury, who had led the Studio since its opening, was seconded to the University Technical College UTC@MediaCityUK in Salford.

Mr Grand said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as permanent Principal at Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio.

"I have been part of the Studio team since opening in 2013 and have seen several year groups flourish and progress under our tuition.

"I really admire the passion of our students and staff for the unique opportunities we offer for study in the creative digital, technical digital, health, social and child care sectors.

On announcing the appointment Mr Clark said: “Having worked with Colin in an interim capacity over the past six months the governors have been impressed with his commitment, and passion for education at the Studio.

"He is an experienced Principal who will work with pride, pace and professionalism, to create an exciting and successful future benefitting all our students.

"I am delighted he has accepted the role on a permanent basis.”
