HUNDREDS of cannabis plants were found after police were called to a property in Coppull.

Officers attended a house in Spendmore Lane in the village where they found 40 mature plants and around 360 smaller ones.

A team off officers made the find at around 1pm on Sunday, February19.

It is understood a male landlord went into his property and found the cannabis growing in several rooms.

He had been renting out the house to a tenant.

He then contacted police who searched the house, recorded the amount of drugs found and removed the plants.

Police said as yet there have not been any arrests and enquiries were on-going into the find.

Images were released by police of the hundreds of plants and bagged up leaves in packages marked 'destroy'.

A police spokesman, said: "Chorley neighbourhood team officers have seized 360 to 400 cannabis plants from an address in Coppull.

"Enquiries are currently on-going and the drugs will be destroyed.

"Anyone with information can call us on 101 quoting incident reference 635 of February 26.
