Lancashire Telegraph review by Kimberley Hall from April 23, 2010.
LOOKING for somewhere we hadn’t been before brought us to Amalfi for a midweek treat.
The restaurant is quite compact and wasn't full, but its minimalist, clean and stylish interior makes for a pleasant atmosphere.
We decided on the three courses for £10.95 deal and from a limited but enticing menu we ordered baked garlic mushrooms, chicken livers in a red wine sauce, the Amalfi special pizza and spaghetti marinara.
The starters were a good size — I have had smaller main courses — and tasted great.
My spaghetti was almost overflowing from the generous-sized bowl it came in — packed with mussels, squid, tuna steak, salmon and a couple of huge king prawns. It looked like a piece of art.
The pizza was also piled high with toppings and we devoured most of our food.
Then it was dessert time.
For someone without much of a sweet tooth, I wasn’t expecting much from the sticky toffee pudding I had gone for. How wrong I was!
The small slab of moist cake was surrounded by a to-die-for sauce which knocked my socks off.
Even the house red wine was pleasant and not overpriced.
I’ll be going back to Chorley.
