The St George’s DAMS is celebrating its centenary year by staging Babes in the Wood.

The society was formed in 1913 but was dormant for a few years in the late 1970s and 80s before being resurrected with a new committee and members in 1989.

The first production in February 1990 was Babes in the Wood by John Morley and to mark the 100 year celebration they are staging the same panto.

Some members of the original cast can be seen on stage this year in the new production in different roles. Several of the original members of the children’s chorus have developed their skills and progressed to adult roles, notably Sian Phillipson as Slippery Sam.

Sian is also the main choreographer for many of the productions including this one. There is also a chorus featuring children and adults from St George’s.

Performances are on February 19, 21, 22 and 23 at 7.30pm at St George's Church Hall, Halliwell Street, Chorley. Tickets priced at £6 (£5 concessions) including refreshments can be booked on 01257 276540.
