Olympic gold medallist Bradley Wiggins has thrown his weight behind the Citizen’s Tins and Toys Campaign.

Eccleston-based cyclist Bradley, who scooped two gold medals at the Beijing Olympics, was happy to support the campaign as he collected a Chorley Smile Award alongside paralympic heroes Graeme Ballard and Michael Churm.

He said: “Any campaign, such as the Tins and Toys, is important, especially at Christmas. I grew up on a council estate in London and that kind of thing obviously went on, even though, as a child, you don’t realise it.”
