Chorley had victory in their sights when they had the home side struggling on 50-5 having scored 165 in their innings.

Pro Friedel de Wet had dismissed both openers while Bill Smith had claimed three wickets.

But Stephen Twist with 72, and an unbeaten 36 from Russell Bradley saw St Annes home with four wickets to spare.

Andrew Holdsworth had earlier top scored with 46 for Chorley in their innings while Twist finished with figures of 5-18.
