An Adlington golf student will be heading out to Brazil next month to rub shoulders with Ryder Cup Captain Nick Faldo after reaching the Faldo Junior Series World Final.
Myerscough College golf student Andy Palmer, 19, from Adlington, and fellow student Megan Burgess, 18, from Macclesfield, both qualified from regional finals at different venues across the UK.
They will now spend a week with the six-time major winner at the Costa Do Sauipe resort in the north east of Brazil.
Andy, a second year Foundation Degree Golf Management student, qualified by winning a dramatic play-off at The Roxburghe Golf Club, in Edinburgh.
Last year he played in Slovakia for the Preston-based University of Central Lancashire (Uclan) Elite Squad and he has represented British Universities in the past.
Megan, a second year National Diploma Golf Studies student, qualified from Trentham Golf Club, in Staffordshire.
Myerscough Golf Studies Course Leader Rick Daniels commented: “Both the students have shown tremendous ability by qualifying and they will now enjoy a brilliant week with a true golfing legend!
"Once again it shows that Myerscough is one of the very best college’s for golf development.”
