Chorley’s rising rugby league star Josh Charnley made his England debut last weekend in a victory over Exiles.

The highly-rated Wigan Warriors winger, who played for Chorley Panthers as a junior, was part of the team that won 18-12 in the first Origin Series match at Langtree Park.

The win eased the pain caused 12 months ago when George Carmont snatched a 16-12 victory for the Exiles with the last play of the match at Headingley.

Charnley, 20, will be hopeful of consolidating his international claims by making the team for the second and final game at Huddersfield on July 4.
